Product Review : Stieg Larsson's Dragon Tattoo Trilogy (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo / The Girl Who Played with Fire / The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest)
I had read the books and then learned that this trilogy was available. My husband (who had not read the books)and I watched them, one each night and became very immersed in the story. The movies are very close to the book, which is an unusual happening in Hollywood. There was the additional element of the powerful Swedish dramatic cinematic delivery that has held true from Bergman to today. A bonus was the fact that we could choose either Swedish vocals with English subtitles or in English only. We watched the first two in Swedish and the last movie in English. I prefer hearing the Swedish language (it becomes natural to read the subtitles); my husband preferred the movies in English.

The trilogy, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is IN-credible...............beautifully, professionally, artistically presented.............Nonstop action which means those subtitles whirl past with lightening speed..........trust me, you don't want to take your eyes off the screen.........can't wait to see how the original film(s) and the soon-to-be-released American version compare.............I'd bet the original will win.....................

I got hooked on this trilogy after reading the first book - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The movie was fairly close to the book and with the English dialogue, it was enjoyable. The second and third videos moved well as far as the plot went, but unfortunately several parts of the 2nd and 3rd books were passed over to make movies of around 2 hours. To enjoy this set and understand the plot, one must view them one after the other and within a short period of time.

Being produced by the same people as the gutsplitting "The Office" gives mockumentary/comedy "Parks and Recreation" a lot to live up to. Fortunately its first season is a solid little intro to a promising series -- the first couple episodes are a bit scattershot comically, but it really takes off by the middle of the season. And Amy Poehler is nothing short of amazing.
Ambitious Leslie Knopes (Poehler) is a middle-level, rather clueless manager in the Parks and Recreation department. When a nurse named Amy Perkins (Rashida Jones) tells her of a vast abandoned pit that caused her loutish boyfriend Andy to break both his legs, Leslie smells an opportunity.

Love the show, the price was great so I would have been silly not to get it. But there were only 6 or so episodes on this disc, I guess that's due to how the show aired. Just wasn't expecting it. It would have been usefull to have a running time of the disc or number of episodes posted in the info section.

I bought this for my mom. She's watched 1 epsiode so far and enjoyed it. The only thing I wanted to comment about was that there's only 6 episodes in the first season. I wasn't aware of this when I purchased the DVD, so I think the price is a bit high for only 6 episodes.
